This month's essential rewards order mainly constisted of Thieves products. I love using Thieves oil in the diffuser, under my tongue, or in homemade soap. It has antibacterial properties and is one of the best oils for nursing school germaphobes.
In addition to my Cruelty-Free Eating and Diva Cup, Young Living Thieves oil and products were another opportunity for me to cleanse my daily routine of chemicals and unnecessary products. These are the three Thieves products I received this month.
This order consisted of Thieves Household Cleaner, Thieves Toothpaste, and Thieves Fruit and Veggie Spray.
Thieves Household Cleaner
Your Premium Starter Kit includes a trial size of the household cleaner, so you can give a whirl as soon as you get started. The Thieves cleaner was another product I wanted to switch to in my home because it doesn't have harmful chemicals like other brands do--but don't worry, it still does the job!
Thieves Household Cleaner has several essential oils infused into it, including Clove oil, Lemon oil, Cinnamon oil, Rosemary oil, and Eucalyptus oil. A combination of these create the Thieves blend. This cleaner has THE best smell to it and I'd choose the smell over Lysol any day! (Does anyone else have the smell of Lysol engraved in their memory from their childhood stomach virus?)
I love this cleaner so much. It smells clean and lemon-y, but also has a warm home-y smell from the cinnamon. It takes the clean smell to a whole new level. It works great too--I took the first test drive on my countertops, which were sticky from food and had leftover bits and crumbs from cooking... plus the cat walks on the counters--it's gross, okay? I sprayed the area and it wiped clean in one swipe. And wiped away the cat germs, too.
I chose to buy the single-use packets instead of the larger bottle of cleaner. It's all super concentrated, so diluting it is a must. The single-use packets made it a lot simpler for me to dilute and mix, so I got those. I bought a 16 oz glass spray bottle on Amazon and I simply dump the cleaner packet in it and fill to the top with water. You can dilute it more or less depending on what you're cleaning (ie. the bathroom versus the mirrors).
Thieves Toothpaste
In one of my previous orders, I bought Thieves Dental Floss and absolutely loved it. It was strong yet thin, and had the best taste. So I decided to get the toothpaste as well and it is not a let-down. It has an amazing taste, using both Thieves and Peppermint oils. It still gently whitens your teeth but you can add baking soda if you want a stronger version.
It is free of fluoride, preservatives, and other chemicals, so I definitely wanted to swap that out in my chemical-free cleanse. It is a bit more expensive than conventional toothpastes, but the fact that I know it is clean and safe for my body, it's well worth the cost. Granted we don't actually ingest the chemicals and preservatives in normal toothpaste, small amounts still stay in your teeth and mouth. I am very satisfied with this Thieves product and am glad I made this swap in my daily life.
Thieves Fruit and Veggie Spray
I've always grown up with a habit to rinse my fruit and vegetables under water for a few seconds before eating it, however I saw this product while browsing through my Young Living Catalogue and figured I'd give it a try.
This is a 2 oz spray that uses Thieves and other oils to get rid of any lurking bacteria or germs on your fruit. I got to thinking--how many apples do you pick up and feel before making a decision? How many other people have touched that apple? Simply rinsing it off for a few seconds wasn't cutting it anymore.
You simply spray the fruit or vegetable with this spray and rub it in for 30 seconds. It bubbles up and cleans the food. Then, you rinse under cold water and enjoy. I was worried that it might leave a taste on the fruit (I love Thieves but wasn't ready for a Thieves-flavored apple!), but it didn't leave any residue or taste (that I could tell).
I wish I had gotten this product at the beginning of flu season, so I could really put it to the test. Overall it's a good product, was inexpensive, and I'm happy with it.
I also got Lavender conditioner in my order. I was really hesitant to spend so much money on a conditioner, but Erika assured me it could be diluted and was well-worth it. Sure enough, I used a third of the bottle and filled the other two thirds up with water and shook. Before hand, it was so thick (almost too thick to use) but after I added water, it was the consistency of normal conditioner. I also chose to add Rosemary oil to promote hair growth.
Getting my Young Living order each month really is like Christmas. I hand-select these products and love using them in my everyday life. Ready to get started yourself? Get your Premium Starter Kit and become a member today! Also, don't forget to check for my latest freebie!
